This list of children’s books about Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains is the perfect addition to your family vacation. After booking our farm stay, and planning some things to do, like horse back riding, visiting caverns, and so much more, I began searching for books that I could incorporate into our homeschooling.

Since we homeschool, it is important to us that our children learn about the places we visit before we arrive. Books have a way of making a place come alive way before our arrival. It also allows them to make life long connections between the books they have read and places we have visited.

What a great variety of books for kids about the Smokey Mountains. I love getting my kids books about where we are travelling to, before the trip. Its a great way for them to learn about the destination.

I love the Smokey Mountains (I saw them in NC), but to have books to highlight them and the state of Tennesse is amazing. Giving your kids a love for their home state is something they will always have with them.

We are planning our next trip to the Smoky Mountains and we would love to venture into NC this time. There is so much to see and never enough time to see it all!
