Yes! Several of the suites at Bay View Bed & Breakfast feature private balconies. During our stay, we stayed in Suite 1, which included a private balcony overlooking the harbor. Because the suite sits above neighboring businesses, portions of the roofline and utility lines are visible from the balcony, but the harbor views remain a highlight of the space and provide a great vantage point for watching the activity below.

What Makes Bay View Bed & Breakfast Different?
At Bay View Bed & Breakfast, the experience goes beyond simply having a place to sleep. One of our favorite parts of our stay was the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the extra touches that come with staying at a true bed and breakfast.

Each morning begins with a freshly prepared sit-down breakfast, giving guests a chance to start the day with a homemade meal before heading out to explore Mackinac Island. In the afternoon, guests can stop by for fresh-baked cookies and refreshing lemonade, and in the evening, a homemade dessert provides the perfect sweet ending to the day.
The dining room also creates a welcoming atmosphere where guests can gather, share travel stories, and connect with others visiting the island. If you’ve never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, it’s a much more personal experience than a traditional hotel and one of the things that makes Bay View unique.
A big part of that experience comes from Rose, the innkeeper. From the moment we arrived, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had an enjoyable stay. Her warmth and hospitality helped create the friendly atmosphere that Bay View is known for, and it’s clear she takes great pride in caring for both her guests and the property. The homemade meals and treats she prepared throughout our stay were delicious and added an extra layer of comfort that made us feel right at home.
Would We Stay Here Again?
One of the biggest advantages of staying at Bay View Bed & Breakfast is its combination of location, views, and included amenities. Being steps from the marina and just a short walk from downtown made it easy to explore the island, while breakfast each morning, afternoon cookies and lemonade, and homemade desserts in the evening added those extra touches that make a bed and breakfast experience special.

As you’re exploring the property, be sure to check out the beautiful mural located on the second-floor back stairwell. Painted by the owner’s daughter, it’s a unique piece of artwork that adds a personal touch to the inn and reflects the family atmosphere that makes Bay View so welcoming.
With ongoing room renovations bringing updates throughout the property, Bay View Bed & Breakfast continues to be an option for visitors looking for a convenient and welcoming place to stay on Mackinac Island. We were able to see some of the progress being made during our visit, and we’re excited to see the finished results. Be sure to stay tuned, as we’ll update this post with additional photos as more of the newly remodeled rooms become available.
